Heaven cup

This porcelain cup, just tinged with the purest sky blue, lifts upward with a graceful, wavering profile suggesting clouds on the horizon. The immaculately thin sides let in rays of light, illuminating tea within, but the tapered form retains enough weight in the foot so as not to be unsteady, a cup drifting across the tea table. A product of the Jingdezhen-based Ling Yin Ping, whose cumulous work we've sourced before, it matches the similarly nebulous Heaven Teapot, with both available together as a set of one teapot and two cups. Try with pale green or white tea for the ethereal look, or a deep red tea for a beautiful contrast.
