Dear Tea Friends,
in 2027, we are taking you to the source of tea again — with two different Tea Tours.
Our Taiwan Tea Tour is an immersive journey through Taiwan's oolong culture, from the seaside deep into the high mountains.
For those looking for something less predictable, our new Sourcing Tea Tour takes a small group to China to join Gabriele in sourcing tea for Nannuoshan: no fixed itinerary, just rough destinations (Yunnan and east China) and the search for outstanding tea.
TAIWAN TEA TOUR 2027
A carefully planned journey through Taiwan's tea regions and tea culture.
WHEN: April 23 – May 3, 2027 (departure may vary by +/- 3 days and duration by +/- 2 days).
WHERE: Taipei and surroundings, Taichung, Dong Ding and high-mountain tea villages.
FOCUS: Taiwanese oolong, with an excursion into Taiwan-stored pu'er.
WHAT: Exclusive tastings, visits to tea gardens and farms, meeting producers, witnessing and participating in tea harvesting and processing, and experiencing different approaches to cultivating and producing Taiwanese oolong.
ACCOMMODATION: Simple, clean hotels; single and double rooms available. In the mountains, single rooms may be unavailable for up to two nights, in which case rooms will be shared.
COST: €3,000 – €3,600, depending on actual flight and hotel costs and number of participants.
SOURCING TEA TOUR 2027
Join Gabriele in sourcing tea first-hand. A small group of maximum 8 adventurous tea lovers will travel to two tea-producing regions. We will know where we are going, but not exactly what we will find.
WHEN: Beginning of April — approximately 7–8 days in China, plus international travel.
WHERE: Two tea-producing regions, probably one in eastern China and one in Yunnan.
FOCUS: Searching for and sourcing exceptional teas.
WHAT: No fixed programme: we will follow leads and local contacts, visit producers, farms and markets, taste and compare teas, and experience the sourcing process as it actually happens — including unexpected discoveries, changed plans and the occasional dead end. Suitable for every age, but a reasonable level of fitness is required for long days on the road and on foot.
ACCOMMODATION: Simple, clean accommodation depending on where our search takes us.
COST: €2,600 – €3,100

A small note: Our Tea Tours are experiences for tea lovers and are not intended for tea merchants or professionals seeking commercial know-how. To protect our producers, contacts and sourcing network, participants will be asked to sign a confidentiality agreement. For the Sourcing Tea Tour, participation is limited to people who are not professionally active in the tea business and agree not to enter the tea trade for five years following the tour.
