Community cup, mottled stone

These glazed octagonal cups have the distinction of being selected by our Discord community while we were sourcing teaware in China. The 'eggshell' style is unusual for non-porcelain ceramic, as one can see from ruddy brown material exposed on the foot, and the thin walls tapering to a mere couple millimeters is not only impressive, but keeps the cups airy light in the hand. The soft octagon with its slightly textured exterior glaze adds to the haptics, while the cool off-white interior glaze shows off the color of the infusion beautifully, making these the perfect everyday gongfu cups for those who prefer color and texture to pure white ceramic.

The stony gray glaze is mottled with pinpricks of chalky brown, splashes of lichen-like teal, and tinges of rust, pairing well with natural materials and belying its minimal weight.
