In anticipation of the new season of teas, we've put together this fifth batch upon a collective vote to take a deeper look at Chinese green teas. With these twelve teas, we will traverse the different tea producing regions of China and explore how the processing techniques of each locality shapes the bright and tender aromatics so favored in these young buds and leaves. Along with stories from Gabriele's tea sourcing travels, there will be an important side-by-side tasting of Ganlu from 2021 and 2022 to draw together the nuances that can be found in this coming year's harvest.
The Tea Classes
We began a series of classes intended to familiarize the staff at Nannuoshan with our tea collection. However, understanding that our online community could find this acquaintance with teas useful too, we opened up our classes as a public tea gathering, to meet once a week online.
The classes are free to join! Students are encouraged to participate in the tastings by purchasing the fifth batch of 12 teas, but whether or not you have the teas at hand, we invite you to sit in with us anyway. A shareable link to the event and an overview of brewing accessories needed for the tasting are posted the day of on the Nannuoshan Discord channel (join here).
